Drive Electric Cornwall

The Drive EV2 Project is bringing 150 new public access electric vehicle charge points to Cornwall. The project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Cornwall Council. This funds fast, and a small number of rapid charge points, in council car parks. The project also funds public events to help people make the switch to electric vehicles.

The UK Government has banned the sale of new petrol and diesel cars from 2030. The Drive EV2 Project will support this transition to electric vehicles. With transport being Cornwall’s largest single source of emissions, this is an important part of Cornwall Council’s efforts to be net zero by 2030.

SWARCO has been contracted to install, operate and maintain the project funded charge points. The installation has started, and the charge points will be ready for use over the summer.

The Drive EV2 Project, Cornwall Council and SWARCO will be at the event to talk to you about Cornwall’s new electric vehicle charging points.
